Use Ping List to Promote Your Blog

Q: How can I let other sites know that I posted new content to my blog without spending too much time on it?

A: Your subscribers will, of course, be notified automatically. To get the word out to the rest of the blogosphere, you’ll need to get the word out to the social media sites and blog directories. Updating them manually is not only very time-consuming, but exceptionally boring.

The entire process can be automated with a few tools. One of them is a PING LIST . To set up a ping list in a Wordpress blog, you need to

Log into the admin area of your blog

Click on Settings

Select Writing option

Find Update Services. You will already have one entry on that list that is the default service Wordpress notifies of updates – http://rpc.pingomatic.com

Copy and past links to other update services, such as the ones from this list, in the space below;

Don’t forget to save changes.

Another thing you can do (and it will work for any blog, regardless of the platform or hosting option) is register at Pingoat and/or at Pingomatic. It’s very simple and takes less than 1 minute. You get to choose which services you want to send pings to. And you don’t need any technical knowledge other than knowing the URL of your blog.
